Being new to trucking I really wanted to drive so I could do what I needed to to take care of my daughter. I had decided to go to Stevens Transport and got on. I drove for them 6 months trying to make a year but it was really Impossible to succeed with this company. They are the kind of company that butter you up and then toast you slowly. My last month working with these fools I came back off home time and ran 5 loads and got them there on time. They never payed me for not even 1 load. Because I choose to quit working for Stevens Transport they ended up being petty as ####. I applied with other trucking companies and Stevens Transport put 3 preventable accident on my Dac Record. I never received or gotten into any situation at all nor had any tickets. The only play that I could get a job driving was JB Hunt. I hate this company as well and I only been working here 2month. Do anyone knows how to deal with this matter because the company I want to go work for won't accept me and JB Hunt is terrible.

For one thing ....if they owe you money by law they have to pay you ...call the labor board ....also by law ,they cannot put any false information on a DAC report ...in both cases you have a lawsuit against them.....remember a DAC report is public notice and it cannot by law have any false information on it about you ....that's what we call slander and it can be used in against them in court ...most lawyers won't charge you until the case is won in court.......YOU HAVE A RIGHT TO SUE THEM IF THEY DON'T STRAIGHTEN THIS OUT QUICK

Say, if you had accidents, they will report them. Backing into a post, clipping a sign...these are all considered accidents.
I know you think you weren't paid, but if you call payroll and ask for a final accounting, they will send you one covering every penny owed and paid.
You may not like Stevens and there are lots of people that agree with you, however I have yet to find a single (former) driver they have failed to pay. But when you factor in costs such as towing and securing an abandoned truck, it eats up final paychecks very fast.
    (not saying you abandoned equipment)
Also, I call bull on the 'ran 5 loads' and not being paid. If you were a company driver (and it sounds like you were), you transflow each load after you're done. Most drivers can't run more than 2 loads per week due to the length of the average haul (over 1,000 miles for a solo driver), so you're saying you didn't transflow for 2 weeks or more?
What I will bet is you lived on cash advances.
I work inside in night operations and am constantly amazed at the drivers that take HUNDREDS of dollars per week in advances, paying ATM fees for each one. Then they can't understand why when the loads are settled, they have no money.
Like I said, there are lots of people that hate Stevens, and you are apparently one. And they do have their warts.
But not paying drivers legitimately is not one of them.

Maybe he went to Stevens school and did complete his contract?

I don't care for Stevens based on the time that company expects you to stay out, my choice, however I've never heard a stevens driver complain about not being paid what was owed.

Loads unpaid sounds a bit hard to believe but a bottom feeder hitting your DAC is an extremely common thing. Guess what, it doesn't mean anything when you go apply for another job unless you are going to (you guessed it) another bottom feeder. If you go to a smaller carrier or a local one they would look at your MVR, see it clean, see no problems.

Stevens can say whatever the hell they want, but to a reputable business (not another bottom feeder) it's nothing but hearsay and borderline slander. What matters is your MVR and CSA score.

What were the 3 preventables?Far as them not paying you,did you get your cdl thru them?Companies will get what is owed to them even if it means taking your part of the settlement. You should call them and get the facts.

Back when I drove for them, they would pay you as soon as they processed the trips you sent in. Heard of a driver who was griping he hadn't been paid in 4 weeks since going solo. Turns out he had a stack of trip envelopes he hadn't mailed in.

I learned never make it known you were going to the yard because all the drivers within earshot would lay trip envelopes in front of you, saving them express postage.

Doesn't matter if you have a school loan. they don't hold payroll back due to that. They will give you time to work out a payment plan with them (which if you do up fron't is the same as what you agreed to when you were working there). If you don't work out a payment plan, they send it to collections.
I've never heard of any Stevens driver not being paid for their loads, except charges for expenses such as un receipted things like trailer washouts, lumper fees.
I'll be he just lived off advances and that's what ate up his checks.

    Swamprat55 and Rockwyrm Thank this.
