Dont like to pay there drivers. You work long hours, run over hours, late for appointments because you cant get fuel, run over 2500+ miles and only make a 300.00 check. Fuel cards dont work. They like to cuss people and call drivers names. Dont work for these people they will only screw you and make you lose everything.

They only care about themselves dont care about there drivers. Found out the they was with three other companies and closed the doors.

Is it one of those "Chicago 1099" companies?

Sounds like it, although a location would be helpful.

I just dont understand... how does a 65 truck company have well over 550 inspections in three years? But I guess I can see why.. this company is Targeted by the DOT.. 4 alerts in basic categories.. all over 95%.. YIKES. Seems like a FREE for all here.

indeed stay away from this company.

Hmm.. By any chance are they Russian owned? Were they associated with another Russian owned company from NY?

I ask because if they are, then it's the same people who hired an illegal Russian immigrant with three fake cdl licenses from different states, false medical card, "safety" personnel was non existent nor DOT certified, and the kicker you may ask?

The driver jack knifed on the Florida turnpike and struck my dads truck, causing him to have permanent lumbar damage, chronic pain, and ending his 20 year trucking career.

After the accident the driver fled the country, never to be heard from again even from his attorney, the company had multiple violations and operated under an umbrella of other eastern European businesses. The settlement was a joke because these animals had nothing to go after apparently, it threw my family into a financial tailspin. I remember them hauling pool screen materials down here. The name sounds too familiar to be anyone else.

I've seen a few of their trucks, every time they were typing on their phone while driving, or exercising on some form of stupidity. I remember FMCSA announcing they were going to do something about companies like stery, but has done very little except pushing "sleep apnea testing" or some other useless garbage.

Yes, russian, yes from NY, unfortunately i found out tha hard way about driving for companies out of chicago area. i know this outfit, they have a repair shop also. the outfit i worked with used their repair shop.most of what's said about some trucking companies out of the area, are true, i switched jobs 6 times in 3 yrs before i learned what's a known......unfortunate what happened for your dad......im not inclined to doubt that occurrence. what i've observed while driving out of this area, is that there's a tendency to bring tha eastern euro driving style here to u.s. ......they are also ethically ruthless towards one another in business and towards drivers.
i had a DOT officer let me go, after to talking to a o/o i worked for, (she was like, "what an azzhole") out of chicago area......he was eastern euro, very belligerent towards authorities, i heard he got shut down, but suspects he opened up under new authority.......chicago is actually known as one of the most corrupt cities in tha world.......i licked mah wounds and got out of that area......

Yes they are very belligerent, I remember being in the room with the attorneys, insurance rep, and they were on a conference call. They were shouting obscenities and did not want to cooperate at all in the case. "The other driver got hit but he was fine, I don't care. I lost my guy I don't care I have to work and run business, don't waste my time."

This infuriates me! How can these people still be allowed to run any sort of business??? I also remember hearing the deposition on tape with a woman from "safety" she stayed quiet throughout... she did admit that the driver who struck my dad never got road tested and couldn't answer why he had multiple licenses from different states all showing different height and weight.

What do we have to do to get rid of these people from conducting "business" here????

I was in a shipper a few years ago and one such driver was waiting to be loaded, and a couple other local guys were in there. They asked me about the elog system that my company(at that time), had started using, and the guy from Chicago started ranting the he didn't need all these regulations, where he was from they could drink like fish and still drive., us American drivers were stupid, blah blah blah... Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against a person or their family legally coming here for a better life, but to act like the laws don't apply to you? Gimme a break.

I looked at csa numbers, there's actually two companies named stery, one inactive and one active.... So it's obvious Stery is one of those companies that just changes their DOT numbers when FMCSA tries to shut them down.
