The harness should have three plugs that go into the main harness. On the other end of these three plugs is a plug that goes into your radio undo the three plugs undo the plug from your radio and you should have a short harness about 10 inches long. Cut the wires closest to the end that goes into the stereo and simply match the color coded wires to the wires for the new stereo. I have done this probably 15 to 20 times on kenworths as new as 2006 and everyone is the same.

I gotta say that on my '06 Pete there isn't any harness to unplug and replace. The #### harness is about 2 feet long at least (thats as far as I traced it into the dash) so I used the tried and true cut/slpice method. The only difference is I used high quality male/female spade connectors so I could easily swap out radios in the future. To be honest if I would of had enough weather pack connectors I would of went this way so things would look more organized.

For my '03 379 Best Buy has a VW wiring harness adapter that plugs right into the factory plug then you connect the new stereos wiring to that, the colors should match right up, it will keep you from hacking your wiring up.

It may well be the same one for a KW but if not they should have one that will work. On mine there was a separate plug I had to buy for the amp.

For future reference (and for anyone who cares), the correct harness adapter for Kenworths and Petes is the one for 1986 and up Volkswagens.

This past wednesday I purchased a new stereo from my local Kenworth dealer. They charged me $18 for the harness. Sliced and diced it to my Volvo factory harness, works like a champ.

I think its the same as the Kenworth BT-ISO-DIN on the link 112Racing posted.

I know this is an old thread but i hope it helps someone. I just installed a new pioneer cd player in my truck yesterday. My kw dealer was closed and best buy didn't have a wiring harness so i was skeptical about cutting and splicing the harness that came with the radio into the one from my truck. I unhooked the 3 different plugs and cut and spliced them together with butt connectors. All the colors matched up and everything worked out perfectly. I would not even waste my time or money dealing with kw dealer. Btw my truck is an 02 t 600. I took the dash panel off under the stereo and that opens everything up really nice to see what you are doing and give you space to work.
