I've been seeing loads lately looking for step that can haul 10' tall loads. This is a problem due to my step being 40" in the front and 43" in the rear. Are steps typically the same height front to rear or do I need to adjust my trailer ride height? Even at 40" all the way back, my limit is 119" (10' is 120"). I've been finding AC units requiring this 10' height.

Um, if your trailer was 40" front to back, you could haul 10'2". If the rear of your step is higher than the front of the step, your fifth wheel is too low.

Usually, these measurements are given empty. When you are loaded, the trailer will be lower. There are low deck trailers with empty heights of 36" or 37".
