Um, if your trailer was 40" front to back, you could haul 10'2". If the rear of your step is higher than the front of the step, your fifth wheel is too low.

 

Usually, these measurements are given empty. When you are loaded, the trailer will be lower. There are low deck trailers with empty heights of 36" or 37".

 

The only thing that will be lower when loaded on a modern air ride step deck will be the height of the arch.

 

yeah you can do a bunch of different things....lower trailer ride height, put a low 5th wheel on, go to 22.5" rims, go to lo pro rubber on the truck, lower the truck ride height (but watch the pinion angle).

 

He's already low in the front and high in the rear. To even out he needs to raise the fifth wheel height either with tires or a taller fifth wheel mount, or make sure the trucks suspension is set at the proper height first, and then raise it up. SHC had this problem when he ran tanker, and made a set of risers.

Could the trailers air bags be on the high side and not adjusted correctly?
