For any steel coil heavy haulers in the midwest out there let me know what you think about Steel Transport in Gary, IN. Curious to see what others think. I work here now and just found out this trucker report web. Great place to work in my opinion.

How much does a heavy haul coil weigh?

I've been running 80-85,000 permitted loads
-
The coil weighs 85k?
jamespmack and kylefitzy Thank this. -

We do these once awhile...if I remember they were weighing 85-90k. Black iron for pipe.
Mattflat362, Vampire, Lostkeys and 8 others Thank this. -
Never would have guessed they weigh anywhere near that.
Being that far back, are you light on the drivers?OLDSKOOLERnWV, cke, TripleSix and 1 other person Thank this. -
Used to be anything over a 48k was big. But just because it weighs more, don't mean it pays more, like it used to.
I dont understand the new day term of "Master Coil". In the past that was black iron and normally was cheap. I actually think they have coins the term "master" to simply fool people to think they are something special. They have cheapened they heavy haul steel loads. The multi axle trailer loads, permit cost, and the law watching you constantly. Ill stick with my 5 axle outfit for time being.luddybuddy, ProfessionalNoticer, Vampire and 6 others Thank this.
