    International is destined for failure.

If your an old trucker/geared like my you've already heard the saying: If it isn't broke, then don't fix it.......... or, as the people that make these junk trucks would say: "Why leave it like it is, when we can screw it up in a heartbeat"!!!

At 76, I am truly an old trucker. I got my first driving job in Denver, after passing a road test in light of the fact that I had never even been in a semi!! I just KNEW how to drive!

International USED to make a good truck, but In 2001 some moron ther came up with the boneheaded idea to change the way they handled emmissions, and computerized their engines and International has been on a downward spiral ever since then.

That said, in late 2022 I bought a 7400 plow/dump truck to resell. After sitting for just 99 days I went out to "exercise" it and it wouldn't start!

After many tries over the next couple weeks and the help of a longtime friend of mine who is an International guru, we gave up and I had him tow it to our local dealer, Thompson Truck And Trailer, in Sterling, Illinois.they have put a rebuilt HPOP, intake manifold gasket and fuel rail o-rings on it, but still no start!

To date, the truck has now been at the dealer right at 5 MONTHS and still isn't
    running!!

Today, Jan 9, 2023, I called Navistar's corporate office near Chicago and talked to their woman customer "service" rep who admitted she knows nothing about a diesel engine who put me on hold and called the dealer.

She came back about 40 minutes later, saying that the svce Mgr told her that "the truck won't because it isn't getting full to the injectors and black smoke is coming out the exhaust!!!

WAIT A MINUTE!!! Black smoke/no fuel? SERIOUSLY??

So it's clear to this old trucker that the (COUGH) "mechanics" at this dealership wouldn't make a pimple on a good mechanics butt and all they're doing is running up a big bill for me.

During my research on the net I discovered that International lost a 30 MILLION dollar suit by a TEnnessee school bus company for their infamous, stupid RE-design of their em.issions system, so my problem only adds to the fact that:
    A. They have no idea how to make a dependable engine.
And B, couldn't care less about the people who buy the junk they make.

So there's about a 90 percent chance that Rodbuilder is going to lose the $14,900 I'm now into this truck, because I have no intention of paying a big bill for a truck that even a DEALER won't fix!!

That said, STAY AWAY FROM THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY AND THEIR CRAPPY TRUCKS. IF YOU DONT YOU ARE GOING TO LOSE EVERYTHING YOU PAY FOR IT.

Not sure where you have been, but this is all government regulations as to why emissions were messed with in the first place. Some did it better than others. CAT quit making on road engines all together.

Did you know all engines, even off road, are manufactured/equipped with emissions controls? Do you know what DEF is?

It’s not just International I can assure you.

International trucks are the dodge rams of trucking, poorly built low quality trucks with zero resell value.

The main issue I have had with International trucks has been the electronics and electrics, not the emission stuff.

Baloney. I've owned 4 diesel trucks. If you take a Cat, Cummins or Detroit to a dealer at least they know hoe to fix it.
And YES, I know what Def is and that's not necessary either if they would just up the compression ratio and put more heat in the engine.

Ditto forth catalytic converter which actually MAKES smog, because it produces suffer dioxide.

What color I's sulfur and what color are the smoggy clouds??!!!
