Is there anything I can do to dissapate the static electricity charge on my 09 Columbia? Every time I touch something, I get a little shock and it's getting really annoying. I touched my computer the other day and zapped it pretty good. Made it restart itself, but fortunately hasn't done it any harm.

I'm not sure if this will work on a truck but In Avaition they use Wire to dissapate the static. As well as every body pannel are linked together with wire then the trailing edges have wire that sticks out 6 inches or so when the electricty gets to the end of the wire it dissapates other wise aircrafts would fly untl the static built up enough and explode lol.
I graduated from BTC for Avaition Technology...
this is what they look like: there called Static Wicks

If it is cold out you want to be holding your keys in your hands, works great as a way to relieve the static without getting zapped.

Buy a big sponge and soak it in some water. Put the sponge in front of your heater vent to bring the humidity inside your cab up. Higher humidity=less static electricity.

I get the same thing when taking off my coat. What I do is remove one arm, ground myself to the seat frame then toss the jacket off, no more shock!

How about one of those anti static straps.

on some tankers there are grounding wires on bumpers to let statics drain.
And sometimes you are the static keeper. Becouse of syntetic ore woolen wear. -
I was wondering about static straps. That Hello Kitty one looks nice....
I've seen some trucks with rubber bungees stuck thru the running boards or steps on their trucks and wondered if that was a way of eliminating static. Looking at my truck, it would be a little difficult to do that same thing, but if it actually works, I will find a way to do it.
I always walk out to the truck with the keys in my hand, And when I stick it in the lock, there is a little blue zap. I can touch something and get a zap, then 5 minutes later, I'll get zapped again. -
The bungies on the steps are generally for holding the fuel nozzle in place so you can fuel both sides of the truck at the same time.
