Thanks for the info. So if I put my nose to the grindstone, work my butt off and give it my all, theres a good chance to make it to corporate in a couple of years?

I just don't want to wake up 5 years from now doing the same grind, with no benefits, or advancement to show, and have wasted years I could have committed otherwise. I didn't want to ask too many questions to the manager I talked to, I didn't want to make it seem like I wanted to get my time with him over with so I could ditch him to move on to bigger things.

The experience you will get will be helpful, but if I was in your shoes I would contact a local corporate station and see if they are hiring for the reload. Use that exact phrase and they will think you have done this type of work in the past. Often they will hire through a state job service and that is where you will file an application. Get the station managers name and put that on the top of the app or note in an electronic application.

You can do both jobs and then slowly transfer over to corporate. I'm not sure how large of city you live in, but I lived in a city of 250,000 and the reload took about 3 hours 5-8.........if they have a ramp (fedex landing strips and hangers) you might have to also help load the aircarft over at the ramp....about another 1hr-1.5 ......this is a good thing as they need class B drivers to get the cans over the ramp and will train aggresive helpful employees.

let us know how it works out!

you can get a dock job at freight and go through the management program. They are desperate for people to do that. that's your easiest way in to corporate
