So I basically been reading about not be able to find work after completing CDL school in South Florida because no company hires grads from South Florida because of barley no freight coming out of here or too cheap. So I see I have no option but to give up on becoming a trucker because I can not afford to move to another city or state where the megas are hiring. So I'm pretty much stuck and should find something else. I mean any advice beside move or just give up on it all together and go on to something else?

South Florida is a freight black hole.
Lots coming in and nothing coming out.

If you got nothing, Try Cypress Trucking Line, but @Chinatown is the man you wanna ask.

Lots of reefer freight coming out of the Everglades. That doesn't help though unless you're pulling reefers.

Which trucking companies is the CDL school placing students with?
Do you already have a CDL?
    Any endorsements?
Where are you in South Florida?

Why not go to trade school and become an electrician or a plumber or another of the trades that have huge shortages of people in this country? You will do a whole lot better than being a truck driver and won't have somebody watching every thing that you do.

I've read this many times, and find it baffling. The supermarket produce section is full of Flordia citrus, salad greens, and more. I'd think there would be a steady stream of reefers heading north.

There is and most are deadheading, a few chose to haul those $1.30 a mile loads.

I was one of them for years. Company driver though. Never stuck in South Florida or anywhere in Florida, waiting for a load. I didn't have the worry of what the loads paid by the mile, because I chose to be a company driver.

Do not base your future on the B.S. that you read on social media platforms. Pick up the phone, go to truck stops, local repair shops, produce markets and shippers and receivers and observe and ask questions!
