Hello guys. I need some input here. I'm fixing to put 7 or 8 inch straights on my 07 Pete. I'm debating on going with chrome or stainless stack. I'm kinda wantin to know is which y'all think. How many running each. An what do you like or dislike about each.

I ordered stainless but the guy on the phone said are you sure? I said yeah because I am all about quality not style. He said it's $400 vs $100. I went with chrome.

Stainless or chrome you're gonna be polishing them about the same amounts of time.
Facts to facts; you're gonna have diesel soot colecting on `em. Chrome stacks only differ from Stainless stacks in that they contain a higher amount of the element Chromium- and therefore polish out to be more reflective. Neither will rust, both will soot.

    Take your pick.

Black chrome stacks are neat but only if you match them with the rest of the truck. If you just throw black stacks on a tractor it looks cheap and straight out of Miami or Mexico. Lol. On a more serious note if you get good chrome stacks they won't pit. Never bought stainless stacks, had a driver that put them on his truck pulled them off 4 months later due to scratches. The stainless showed a lot of Knicks dings and sctraches along with not having the shine he wanted. But I'm sure it's like anything else if you get good quality stainless or chrome you'll be happier then trying to trim the few extra bucks up front. I bought 5 pairs of dyna flex 6 in stacks. A pair for each tractor 4 yrs ago and all of them have held up great and hopefully they will continue to do so. Had Rockwell stacks b4 that and did not like them, they started to peel after yr 2. Hope that helps.

Stainless will react with some metals and appear to rust.
Chrome on the other hand has a nickel coating throughout and acts as a primer you cant kill. Even though the shiny area is chrome, that nickel plating will fight rust far better than any paint can even hope to cover.

379x has factory stainless 7" that look ok but I still think nothing looks better than chrome when it's clean.

I'm just impressed that some drivers know the difference between chrome and stainless!
