Do we have any drivers who have been part of the st. michael motor express joke of a company? bounced paychecks. no money on efs account for feul. and for some strange reason no matter when you drop your trip pak it gets there when they want it there. 98% of their freight runs the northeast. no easy pass so dig down and pay cash for those tolls. and yeah sometimes you should be a team player and pay cash out of pocket for their feul...yeah right. they will pay you right back with a rubber check. flying j feul stops really look forward to seeing you. flip a coin and hope your efs card works. but hey jesus is there driveing force to bad trump isnt there money force so drivers could make a #### check.

You're not the first I've heard say this. Even before fuel prices went up.

These people were a joke. Ive bounced a bit on jobs looking for the right mix of pay and hometime and in doing that i have seen some crazy things. but this place takes the cake!! They have call ins for a conferrance call driver meeting/prayer. LMAO i dont wanna say cult but nut seems to fit these calls. jesus is gonna keep st. mike above the rest and all other companys are gonna fold. We always are told how people are beating the doors down to get a job with st mikes and if you leave here well pal the driver shortage is over and you just be S.O.L. on getting a job. whatever. i had a job when i started with em and i had one waitin when i left em. :biggrin_25522:

How long did you hang around this rotten apple?

Here's some heads-up advice to any driver......if your outfit pays you by check, don't deposit the check in your own account. Take it to the bank it's drawn on and cash it, and then take the mulla to your own bank and deposit it in your account. You can even do this if you both use the same bank. If the company's bank won't cash the check, you have a bargaining position. If and when this problem happens, you can call them on it. You can also shut 'er down and simply sit until you get paid if they try to make excuses. Depositing their check into your account allows them to stiff you. And if they do stiff you, it could be a couple of weeks before you know it. Weeks you could be giving them free labor and maybe other things.

Man, NEVER spend your own money on somebody else's truck. NEVER. Never buy fuel, parts, or even lumpers. Get COMchecks for all that or sit until you do.

That's a shame, I always enjoyed seeing their trucks and thought they were a stand up outfit. Come to think of it I really miss seeing the Rhett Butler trucks and trailers. Sure beats my plain Jane looking rig.

They have 89 tractors. the trailer count is kinda up in the air. lots of them on the yard that aren't road ready. And yeah I learned long ago that a pretty truck don't make for a nice check. seems the nicer my rig the worse my check. Take a look at White Farms trucking outta Nebraska. I ran for them awhile, 05 379 pete extd hood 18spd 475cat all the bells and whistles you could get. only thing i didn't have was train horns :biggrin_255: but a more outlaw outfit i can't recall every working with. Back to St. Mikes, their tractors are nice no doubt, kw t2000 and 387 petes all with apu's on em. But when you sit 8hrs waiting on efs account to be funded so you can feul or maybe sitting up in mass where you unloaded last night at 8p.m. but you can't leave cause you can't pay for the lumper till maybe 10 the next day. And with each week getting the message that sorry no direct deposit this week but no worries your check will be here waiting or we can snail mail it home and maybe you will get it in bout another week. oh and if you are lucky maybe it won't bounce over the moon. Oh and i almost forgot , the joy at going to the feul island and saying "Pardon me, my company seems to have no efs money so would you maybe take a faxed copy of a company credit card to pay for my 50 gallons of feul so i can make my delivery on time and not be fined $75?" Now, how nice were those trucks again?:biggrin_25513:

Went past their yard in AL not to long ago. I saw some trucks sitting in it and some personal cars. Just haven't seen them on the road.

My husband worked for this company for six months. Last year, he only brought home $7 in the month of December, after they took out his weekly child support. I understand that sometimes it gets slow in the trucking industry due to the current situations in our economy, but give me a freakin break! He injured himself on the job a few months after Christmas, the safety officer told him that he couldn't file it under worker's comp, but the owner of the company told him to file it under their group insurance and he would reimburse his copays for the dr. visits. He did that only to find that their check to the insurance company had bounced and they didn't have insurance anymore. This really sucked not only for my husband but there were two other drivers that had very serious health conditions, one being a massive stroke and the other was cancer. That's a good time not to pay your bills and take care of your employees. We are still battling this worker's comp thing, and since the owner of the company lied about what he told my husband to do as far as going to the dr., the labor board is still denying the claim. So, on top of no miles, bounced paychecks, and the insurance being canceled, the owner called my husband up, asked if he got his injury taken care of, then proceeded to tell him once he was medically able to do so, he would like for him to come back to work for them! OMG!!! I told my husband if he does, we're getting a divorce, and he's getting a brain scan!
