My steering wheel rubs against the tilt column which makes a squeaking noise when the wheel moves 1/16th of an inch, an annoying squeal when moved a 1/4 of an inch, and I'd rather listen to my neighbors seven year old playing the violin than the noise it makes when I have to cut the wheel hard over. There's nothing wrong with the steering system itself - its just plastic rubbing on plastic. I was wondering if I could spraying wd-40 in there (or another lubericant) would help?

It might be your horn contact, there is a little button that rubs on a ring, when the grease dries up they sound kinda squeeky!!
