So I was browsing for O/O opportunities and came across a large carrier advertising 58% of the linehaul, plus FSC. I have no idea what that might come out to.

Around how much do sprinter van expedite loads pay to the carrier??

    Thanks for any replies.

58%>Is that a standard in the expedite industry? Seems low by 25% to me. Check with Landstar Express for a comparison.

Rates and pay scales on that are all over the place. You'd have to be a really smart operator to make a buck with a sprinter van the competition is fierce and everybody is driving one.

Correct because ANYONE can get in one and drive one! No cdl required!

$1-$1.20/mile is the average all in rate. Not sure how they separate out fuel. That rate seems low.

$1-$1.20 sounds good for that kind of work, due to much higher fuel economy, but I'm willing to bet that one wouldn't be getting 2,500+ miles every week with one of those....

Everything looks so easy from the outside looking in. You might go somewhere deliver, and sit for 3 days waiting on a reload. It happens quiet often, the nature of the beast. It happens moreso with vans than with straight trucks and big trucks. If you're looking to roll up big miles there's plenty of companies that would love to keep you busy and you'll likely be doing it for less than a $1 a mile all miles in. And experienced "vanners" will tell you that's as foolish as running a big truck for 95 cents plus surcharge. There are people who make good money doing it, but like everything else trucking the vast majority are doing it for less than nothing.

    BigBadBill and SHC Thank this.
