Applicable Vehicles
Any new Cascadia with 17.48 or newer SSAM software
Symptoms
Issue With the release of the 17.48 SSAM software, the SSAM now has the ability to fault code for missing or extra MSF switches. The following are reported issues from the field that have triggered the fault code.
• Vehicles that had issues with MSF switches will now display the code i.e. a damaged or unplugged switches. • Parameters that do not match the installed MSF switches. • MSF switches that do not have switch parameters. • Wrong parameters loaded during flashing.
Solution
The most common reported issues are associated with the above top three bullet points. To address these types of issues, it is recommended to use Diagnostic Link "Instrumentation" panel labeled "MSF Subbus Switches". The panel will show extra or missing switches by color. An extra switch is a switch that is installed without a parameter. Missing switch occurs when a parameter is present with out it matching switch ID. To locate the ID for a specific switch, the P/N is found on the side of the switch, enter the P/N in EZ Wiring and the switch address (ID) is documented on the print. Example of base switches are P/N A06-90128 or A06-90129.
