I'm looking at making a career change. I don't want to be otr because I just don't want to live out of a truck.
I'm looking for a Local job home everyday for the most part. I have no problem working 50+ hours per week for a good check.
I've been interested in going to hauling fuel and might have a chance to do so. Generally paying by the load or per trip is what they want to do. I'm pretty sure this benefits the company in the long run. I guess it could also keep drivers honest too.

Anyone have any experience working for this company?
I think they go by Marathon Petroleum as well.

From my experience, don't take a local job unless it's hourly pay

Yeah, paid "by the load" benefits the truck co. This is because any delays is on the driver, not the co.

Most tanker outfits are paid by the load. The guys with the info probably don't frequent this site. To busy sleeping waiting for their next 12 hour shift. Just take the plunge. Better opportunities will come once you get expierence.

Most all fuel companies pay by the load. There are probably some that pay hourly i personally don't know off any. They usually work on 12 hour shifts with some weekends night shift is easier if you can do nightsYou should be able to make $1100 to$1300 a week depends on of course work load in your area.

Yea, my brother in law has been doing fuel of 30+ years. Always been by the hour.
One thing he does complain about, he can be waiting in the racks from 2-6 hours, just waiting for the line to go down.
Kinda why I would not do by the load. The company will send the driver to racks that are 0.005 (yes I know it adds up), but every other company is sending their drivers there also. Result is hours long wait in line that the company doesn't care about, but it's screwing the driver.
