I was going 65 on i40 in TN and did not notice that truck speed limit was 55. Cop gave me a ticket for 1-5 over, he was super cool, but said it was 31st of the month and just could not let me go. I also asked him how can I get away without getting points, to which he responded that he started not long time ago and is not really sure how it works with cdl drivers, but regular drivers just get few hours of schooling.
In MI you can just go to court and ask the judge to not get any points. Now, how does it work in TN? Do I have to get a lawyer or go to court and beg for mercy? Does anybody have experience with this? I have not gotten tickets since getting my CDL and dont know how to deal with them yet

Everyone goes over the speed limit there. You were unlucky. They can get trucks all day long right before and right after knoxville. I think its a money grab.

1 to 5 over in NC is no points on your MVR.......call the DMV and ask them...If not an Attorney could get that dismissed NO problem.
I had a 75 in a 55 dismissed in TN....just near Knoxville. Late at night and he snuck up on me. -
