I'm currently in my second week at the Las Vegas school. Classroom only so far, but we hit the range starting next week. My experience so far has been good. The quality of instruction is good, and I feel I'm getting great value for my buck.
george_ready Thanks this. -
TD your awesome I wish GCC was closer to me. I like the community college idea and the price, now if they only offered it at CGCC which is 4 miles away instead of only ad GCC which is about 60 or so away

I have heard both pros and cons. I was thinking of starting at SW on April 26 myself still working on a few thing though. -
i know this thread is a few months old but i'm about to graduate from SWTDT in Phoenix, all i have to say is AVOID "Carmine" AT ALL COSTS, do NOT deal with this man, he doesn't give full information and he is VERY unprofessional, talk to Travis or Sheila instead, they are great people, all the instructors at the school are great guys and gals. my experience at SW has been fairly good except for dealing with Carmine, before i started school there i asked him "Tell me EVERYTHING i need to know to be ready to start school and have everything go smoothly" he told me a couple things about how the course would go and that i would need to pay $500 down and i'd be all set, well i come back a few days later and he says "Do you have that credit application filled out?" and i replied "excuse me? what credit report?" OH yeah you gotta fill this out man or you can't start school. so i fill it out and have my father co-sign which we had to Fax him the papers, the school said that was fine (to fax the paperwork) come to find out, "OH no man, we need the actual signed paper not a copy" it all got settled eventually but i just got sick of running back and forth and getting new info they had left out EVERY time i went to the office. there was even a point where i was called by Carmine and was told i had to have payment by that next weekend or i wouldn't be able to graduate, well that ended up being a name mix up, papers got shuffled, and i was called instead of the other person. still un-professional and i didn't appreciate it. well there's my opinion, now don't get me wrong, if i hadn't dealt with Carmine it would have been the best schooling experience i've had, the instructors are GREAT and know what they are doing, the location is good and the lot where you do all your range driving is brand new asphalt and more than big enough to accommodate your backing maneuvers. all in all i give the school an 8 out of 10, the lunch truck has pretty good grub too by the way, especially their homemade lemonade, gooooooood stuff. especially for a "roach-coach"
