This is a compliant sent into Pilot/Flying J today.
To whom it may concern,
This has been a complete nightmare for us small carrier's that utilized Pilot/Flying J's truck care service on credit terms. Since the merger, those of us with credit on our fleet cards have been told that Southern Tire Mart does not honor the credit. Pilot/Flying J's have sworn that we have credit still and should we need service, we can still visit their service center's. However, this is not the case. We were forced to use Love's truck care today because Southern Tire Mart states that we have no credit with them, therefore, we must pay for services at the time of service. Calls between Pilot/Flying J and Southern Tire Mart are resulting in a back and forth toss up of who's to blame. Pilot/Flying J says the credit is still active. Southern Tire Mart states it's not. Pilot/Flying J says that many small fleet owner's are experiencing this situation and yet no resolution has come from the dispute between the two companies. It is in the best interest of small carrier's to find other credit truck maintenance services because this can take a while before the two companies figure things out. One would think that such situations would have been handled in the board room before going forward with such a merger that has a major impact on all carrier's that utilize Pilot/flying J's truck care services.
As a result of this, We have been forced to seek out other means to handle our truck care when in need. This is in no means in the best interest in keeping loyal customers to the Pilot/Flying J brand. It is forcing us to leave Pilot/Flying J's and seek better treatment at other locations. It is hard for us to imagine that Love's, TA/Petro's and others would disavow their customers in the manner that Pilot/Flying J's have done to us small carrier's. We are small carrier's and do not bring in millions of dollars a day to your company, but we are loyal to your brand. Nevertheless, this situation does not reflect the appreciation when we have other options besides Pilot/Flying J's at our disposal.
This situation should be rectified immediately without delay so that the situation that we found ourselves in today does not happen again. As a fleet card holder for over 2 years, we should not have to utilize other services such Love's truck care because Pilot/Flying J's and Southern Tire Mart cannot manage to straighten this matter out in a timely fashion.
Sincerely,
Southern Tire Mart and Pilot/Flying J merger issues.
