I Am an o/o with pgt trucking. The parent company of southern pines. They do a lot of haz may not specifecly radioactive. I see the trucks alot and it usually just the basic haz mat stuff. And if they are hauling radio active stuff it's gonna be in an indestructible container. It's not as dangerous as you would think. Just sayin.

I'm a driver for southern pines. Yes we haul quite a bit of class 7 / radioactive low specific activity material. Its safe as long as you use some discretion, And its safely enclosed in boxes so no glowing afterwards either
I have been with them awhile and have no complaints, most of the pgt drivers, our sister company, seem happy as well.
Flip Flops Thanks this. -

Any Southern Pines drivers still on this thread? Wondering how long you've been working for them and how you would rate them as an employer. Thanks in advance for any and all responses.

Mike, the sole dispatcher is a great guy, honest, and a pleasure to work for. Great equipment and no recaps on tractors or trailers. Pay is great and the miles are there if you want them. They also have some liquid oxygen and nitrogen runs out west that pay very well and its easy work but you must be willing to stay out for a few months.
I quit and came off the road for awhile since my daughter was about to start sc kindergarten but I plan to go back on the road next year, and s. Pines will be my first pic. Hope the information helps. Good luck and be safe.Pharroh336 Thanks this. -
