So started orientation today. Did physical and drug test was taken to western sizzlin for a real good country meal. Southern Ag seems to be an old school company still using paper logs but I have not heard that will push a driver. The people are very nice, there is actually a family feel at the place. They run some older Kws some newer macks and I saw some older internationals and some newer ones. They are all very well taken care of. I would much rather have a mack or a kw but will take whatever.
So far I think this may have been a good decision coming here. I will keep you guys posted.

I drove for them for 4 years before I got out of trucking for awhile about ten years ago, I was on the ag side at 28% love love loved it. The Griffins are a super bunch of guys. Todd is around my age (51) and very approachable. I ran like I wanted to then. They don't advertise because they don't have to. I hauled peanuts all over the southeast. I would haul peanuts to Texas and then reload peanuts back to GA. I even went out when the Comanche site opened and ran for a few weeks until they could get a driver base established. They are good folks and appreciate their drivers.. Good luck!

Yes its going good. My first load was Albany, Ga to Texarkana, Ar. I dropped my loaded trailer at Cooper Tires and picked up a loaded trailer at Cooper Tires going back to Albany, Ga. I dropped it on the yard. I went 6 miles down the road and picked up a loaded trailer at Procter and Gamble that was Saturday and I went thru the house spent the night and left about noon and now I am delivering in Temple, Tx. I am going to pick up in Fort Worth, Tx in the morning to deliver in Hannibal, Mo Wednesday.
They are very nice people and they are keeping moving. So far I like it. Seems to be a good company.

I just want to tell everyone about the welcome letter I got from the man that runs southern ag. There was a paper I filled out in orientation that asked who I wanted the welcome letter to go to, so I put my 8 year old son. Well my son received a hand written letter from Hugh Nall saying thank you for letting your Dad join southern ag.
I dont know what exactly else it said but my wife and I were both impressed that it was hand written and that the time was taken to do that. It may not seem like a big deal to some but I am impressed.

If you're ever in Albany for an extended time, holler and I'll do my best to put you up or point you in the right direction.

Still going good. Southern Ag is a good company. I am getting plenty of miles and been getting thru the house once a week. Getting thru the house to stay the night on Saturday has been working for me right now because I need to keep rolling and making money.
They are currently looking for drivers so if anybody lives close to Albany I would give them a call if you are looking for a good company.
