    I have around 10 years OTR, one preventable accident.

    I am ready to get back on the road after 2 years not driving.

    Looking for Southeast Regional Solo Dry Van.

    Any suggestions?

    @ryevick -- as posted above, Robert Bearden (out of Cairo, Ga) is a good suggestion.

    Another one you might wanna know about--AMX (main location is Harford, AL) also has a terminal in Jackson, GA:

    Driver Qualifications - AMX (amxtrucking.com)

    I see a good number of rigs in both the fleets mentioned here--both of them seem to be doing well.

    I haven't had much of a chance to follow up YET with the suggestions made above. I do appreciate them.

    I called J.B. Hunt to get some info just because they have a terminal about 15 miles from where I live and they started the hire process over the phone. I let that ball get to rolling because they said it would be the 11th before they had an opening to start the new hire training. It would be decent home time, home Sundays & Mondays driving intermodal which I've not done but should be OK if I go with them. I suppose intermodal would mean no more climbing into trailers to sweep them out? :)

    The 11th will give me the option/time to look into other companies. I know J.B. Hunt doesn't have that great of a driver rating on here but it could do for a while if I needed something to do until I found something better.

    I would still like suggestions though, thanks!

    We (Tyson) have Georgia regional. Not dry van, obviously, but mostly drop and hook with a great compensation package. Give our recruiting department a call!

    @ryevick --

    If my previous experience with Schneider intermodal is reflective at all of what you will get with JB---then no, you will still be expected to sweep out those intermodal trailers! :confused::(

    Pass by the JB Hunt intermodal job if one of the railyards you will work is the CSX yard in Fairburn, GA. I left Schneider intermodal in large part because of persistent dysfunctional problems with that yard!!! :mad::rolleyes:

    The Tyson opportunity mentioned above will actually a MUCH BETTER gig. Private fleets tend to pay better, offer better benefits, and treat their drivers better. :cool: :thumbup:
