One of the drivers here didn't understand what a clutch brake was and blew two of them out. The first one I thought I may have installed wrong, but the second only lasted a day and I k ow it was in right. The real problem now is that it has a Solo clutch, and it has now self-adjusted to have about 3" of free travel.
Is there a way to back off the adjustment so I can put a new clutch brake in? The driver has been educated now.

most drivers need to be educated.
there's really no need to be mashing the clutch pedal into the engine compartment. -
To release the adjustment you hold the pedal down and move the slider leaver on the preasure plate back, to adjust if needed you quickly pump the pedal up and down three times.
Just a thought!magoo68 Thanks this. -
Ok, I didn't know if the adjustment would work in reverse like that.

The basic procedure is to hold the clutch down, move the tab to "new" and release the clutch. Then install the caging bolts, push the clutch 5 times, then remove the bolts.
It is easy to break the tab off, so be careful, don't force it if it wont wont move. Follow the directions carefully in the manual that Heavyd posted. If you break the tab off, you're screwed.
Proper linkage/clutch brake adjustment on a solo is even more critical than manually adjusted clutches, make sure it's all set up right.JohnP3 Thanks this.
