As long as you keep the ice and snow off it it will put a 1 amp per battery charge into them during daylight hours. I used a 35w charger on my "yard car" that I drove once in 6 to 8 weeks.

i got a low battery warning on my vw taos after not driving it for 2-3 weeks so i bought a 10w solar trickle charger that does the job on a car but this topic is for the truck

What is the amperage rating of the charger? Based on the 50W rating that you stated that is only a 0.5A charger.

If that is the case may I suggest using a 1.0A-2.0A smart trickle charger to maintain your batteries.

This is the one I use...

This is an 8A smart charger that will charge at 8A when connected to a weak battery bank but once the voltage and amperage have been brought up the charge rate will come down to whatever is required to maintain the batteries.

I bought something very similar to this a few years ago when I was off for 3 months and it worked fine on my series 60. It was marketed for RV’s.

I have 4 batteries and don’t have access to power so I thought I would try the solar. It works fine on my rig.

This is the one I bought. It has 4 suction cup mounts and I lay it on the cab roof when charging. Very easy system to use. 6D0CF177-B249-4C21-BCB7-0DEBBAB87D92.png

As long as the charger puts out more power than the leach draw from your truck you should be fine. May I recommend turning off the battery switch when on the charger.
