An old timer told me about adding some dish soap to the washer fluid to help remove bugs. How much and what kind? Is this even a good idea?

Two drops would do it. It seemed to streak in the winter time.
rawe Thanks this. -
Two drops of dawn. But you are already stuffing rainx with bug treatment into it right? Don't put anything into that. Keep a couple gallons handy for mcalester Oklahoma this time of year. Sunset time clouds of bugs will make you use a gallon per half mile.
Hell now that I think about it I never put anything into that washer fluid. Here in Arkansas skeeters is the state bug, hit one of those you will find a fuel line to clear the blood from half your windshield. -
Get the cheapest blue glass cleaner you can ( Looks like Windex) mix that half and half with peroxide in a spray bottle. Spray it on and leave it set for a minute or so. Hit your wipers and washer, cleans them right off and doesn't leave a film.
