I have read so many threads about families falling into hard times and having to make hard decision. Many consider to take their child or children on the road and homeschool. I have heard many criticize families, calling it a selfish and stupid idea, I am posting this in hopes that others will see that it is not totally devistating for families to make this decision.
    Please read...it is wonderful.

Maybe but probably not someone who started driving after dropping out of high school.

A social life for a child is as important as the academics.

I home schooled my youngest for 3 years. It's not that hard, but they do need the social interaction as well, especially when they reach high school age.

The other thing about home schooling with the kids in the truck, you'd have to be an O/O to be able to have the kids with ya full time. Most companies don't allow school age children on the trucks except in the summer months.

Besides all that, truck driving is dangerous. Especially this time of year.

One singular person does not represent the average result of keeping a kid nearly isolated in a truck for their childhood.

This is really a great story! Ms. Anderson doesn't seem to have been deprived of anything--she's articulate and sounds like she's quite well-adjusted. Community college, Phi Beta Kappa, student government, and a transfer to Harvard. Wow!
