Anyone have any experience with the Snap On ProLink IQ? I have access to one currently, but the owner doesnt know how to use it. the main thing im curious about is the ECU Rerate for CAT engines. it has all the Cat sotfware on it but will only read my ECU program, no options for rerates. just wondering if and how i can Rerate my engine for the 3406E on the prolink

Bumping up HP? I think you most likely need dealer level CAT ET for that.

wanted to check--and you can read for yourself---mine will do all read and change functions for current software...to do things like change ratings--run overheads etc...you need computer with full cat capabilities and the new software required to install -
To rerate, you need to flash the ECM with a different file, which requires factory passwords, the IQ cannot do that. You need Winflash, plus the new flash file. If you are changing HP, it will ask you for factory passwords that come from Cat. You can flash a new version of the same file that you have without factory passwords, but not change HP.
It is possible to rerate without Cat getting involved, but not legally, we don't speak of those things here. -
CAT dealer here. Our TEPS manager gives us factory passwords on CAT ET in order to access that type of stuff. Even dealers can't do it without being given proper access.
