Question for you guys, I just cleaned out a few trucks that were AWFUL... We allow drivers to smoke in the trucks with no fees associated. If you are a driver who smokes would you pay a fee that covers the cost of cleaning? Thoughts? Thank you!

I would want it like a pet fee, take the money now and if I clean the trk upon quitting and looked just like it did when it was issued to me I would want every bit of that fee back.
Dharok, bubbagumpshrimp, 2Girls_1Truck and 1 other person Thank this. -
I totally agree. This truck looked like an ash tray and it only has 50,000 miles on it.
-
I know the stains and smell can really be overpowering to a non smoker.
Knucklehead, Dharok, KANSAS TRANSIT and 2 others Thank this. -
Quite simply... no.
Are you referring to more about smoke odor or cigarette remnants left in the cab?
No matter which, I think every driver should clean his truck before it is ever reassigned or turned in.
How can you justify charging a smoker on the pretense he won't clean it, when not charging a non-smoker who may trash the truck, in other ways, even moreso?pattyj, Shaggy, texasbbqbest and 1 other person Thank this. -
KW made a valid argument,if you wanna charge the smokers then just charge all your drivers.I for one find if discustingly offensive getting into a trk with trash all over the place.Pop all over the floor ect ect, both smoking and not keeping trk clean and trashing it is equally bad.

I wouldn't pay, even if it was a deposit. You can find another driver and I'll find another company.
What the other driver did is his problem not mine. -
Avoid the whole problem.... And ban smoking in all company vehicles and buildings .
bulldawg trucker, Rug_Trucker, pjw044 and 4 others Thank this. -
I switched to vaping last September, so as long as it didn't apply to vapers I would have no issue with it.
Same with e-cig users.JColt Thanks this. -
More and more companies are doing that.Last local company banned smoking but a trk I drove one day, smoking is nothing compared to what it looked like inside.I showed my boss and she called the driver immediately and had him come clean it,he was on vacation.I was suppose to take it that day but refused because it was beyond deplorable.
NavigatorWife and KW Cajun Thank this.
