hey on 2005 freightliner only has one fuel/water separator no other fuel filter.
Kinda right after putting diesel kleaner in my tanks I’ve had to change my fuel filters for my truck to go again but I saw some metal shavings in my filter ( right after the fuel tanks)
It’s the fuel fuel pump going bad or I’m wrong ?
Is there only one or two fuel pumps ?
Can it be something else ? I also got an automatic transmission
Small metal shavings in fuel filter

it is possible ur fuel pump is going out and the metal shavings came in thru the return line, id check ur fuel tank first to make sure it isn't contaminated, what engine is it?
KB3MMX, Intothesunset and Greggg Thank this. -

You’re saying it’s possible my fuel tank is contaminated with metal shavings or that’s the reason why I need to keep changing my fuel filters so often ?
Thanks btw -
im saying its both, if ur fuel tanks r contaminated you would need to change ur filters more often due to it sucking up the dirt, i believe on that setup the fuel water separator is the only fuel filter correct?

Very odd s60 engine fuel pump is connected to the air compressor, they just stop working far as I know.
wtokhi Thanks this. -

Yep the only fuel filter

Though when changed my fuel filter this time I put water though the fuel filter housing after I drained the fuel.. there was just too many big and small chunks black particles

Personally I don’t know would have to find out I do my own oil changes, change my xy shifter and gasket on my transmission, only the really simple stuff gonna try to find out where that fuel pump is mounted though tomorrow.
