Is any particular brand better than the others? The most widely available here would be Deloupe and Doepker.

Landoll is popular in the states .
Diesel Dave Thanks this. -
I run a deloupe, have no concerns with it. Well constructed, the one I use has the in deck rollers you can raise and lower if winching on seacans or whatever which is handy.
It's also set up with a generator and hydraulics all run off the trailer so a truck without a pto can run it. This has been more reliable than I expected
In the past I have used landoll and ez2load, the deloupe is just as good.
I do not have experience with the doepker made ones. -
Ledwell out of Texarkana also makes a nice one.

Kalyn Siebert or Landoll for recovery work.

Axles slide about the same As when running off of a pto. I wouldn't call it fast perse, but it's reasonable. I can park, run the deck, offload two pickup trucks, reload two more, and be back in position to head down the highway in less than an hour.
