Will most likely be going a company that runs Peterbilts with 80"x42" beds. There is no way I'm going to be able to sleep on the thin mattress that comes with the truck.

I need to order the bed I want so it is ready by the time I go to work but in case this job doesn't come through, I don't want to end up with a bed that I can't use if I go to work for somebody else.

So, is 80"x42" a pretty standard bed size?

most trucks have twin extra long. the mattress my truck that came with the truck is more comfortable then my mattress at home. No need to replace it.

Well ain't you prescious ? LOL that is a big mattress in a truck ! So you might want to rethink your profession if you can't sleep on such a tiny mattress !

This is not your bed room at home you can't just put the bed in that you want . The bed in a truck in built in . It is not on a frame that you just roll around so you can change the feeling of the room .

Sorry your poor reading comprehension leads to your sarcasm. I think it is pretty clear by the title of the thread and by my first post the bed is 80"x42". So, if we know the size of the bed, it would seem quite logical that by little I meant thin.

It also seems pretty obvious that I know the beds in trucks are built in, as I started this thread to ask if the size of the bed is standard or variable.

There was a thread a while back asking why newbies stop posting on this forum. You seem to be a stellar example.

I have replaced little with thin to avoid any further confusion.

WendellWI, and attitudes like yours give newbies a bad rep, nothing wrong with marmonman's comprehension.. You said BED, not MATTRESS, two entirely different things!!! And as Richter said, the truck mattress are very comfortable, hubby and I have been living in a truck for 4 years now, replace the mattress yearly through the company we drive for.
