yello was looking up side mount cameras 2 cameras mounted on side mirrors looking back, cant really find any real thread about them. Has anybody got this down all the way or we still just using our imaginations like going with home security cameras and mounting them on sides?
I actually thought about using home security cameras but my concern on that will be " will they be shock absorbant i70 Indiana will knock anything down if you travel through there.. second the voltage they suck up I imagine 3 camera's and a DVR will require big voltage"
Then i thought about RV cameras they have some on market but they don't include DVR to record footage. I am a professional driver i don't need help backing into tight spots rather just need storage for recording..
Bad days don't have calendar dates when they are gonna occur its always beneficial to be ready for them and protect our self from every angle possible because this is our carrier to sleep and be on the road 24hrs..
If yall got some recommendations or any ideas everything's welcome..
please excuse me if this thread has already been opened.

PowerLinx "Zone Defense" seems like a good system, but hard to find much info on how to buy it

Thanks for your feed back sir -
I'm parked next to a t680 with side cameras that look to be factory installed. They are below the mirror on the cab between the door and the hood... Maybe 4 inches above the hood latches... I would take a picture but it is dark and I don't want to use the flash taking a picture of some one else's truck.

The guts of the cameras should be able to handle the shock of being in a moving vehicle but I could see some cheapo cameras falling apart in the lens housing area if it's a really rough ride. -
I almost got one of these, but didn't want outside mounted cameras. The company is based in TX. They do answer their phone and are happy to answer questions.

Also if you keep the same trailer like I do, the camera on the rear gives me a much better view than my mirrors do when backing a loaded car hauler nearly 90ft in length loaded.Last edited: Aug 20, 2018

I have the HD version on my truck I bought from Dieselboss. An SSD drive allow me almost 5 days of recording of 3 cameras. It was not cheap but I'm happy with the system.
