Years ago we use to run belly dump,an had a box kinda like a 120 out let box, about that size, with the cord an it was free floating in the cab, hated it an mounted it on the dash of the truck we had.
It was BIG,UGLY an looked like a polished turd.It worked nice, with a safety knob so you can not trip it accidentally on the interstate.I am going to pull belly this summer, an want to find something nice IN dash mount in my Ol Pete 379,we have the ol style round toggle switch holes.I want to leave it in permanently.Ideas would be nice, an pic would be better. Toggle switch set up with safety covers?

Why not mount another factory style dump switch with the rest of your air switches in the dash?

When I ran a belly dump I too was worried about hitting that switch at the wrong time. I used a toggle switch cover and mounted the switch in a spot I wouldn't accidentally hit it. I also had a green and red dummy light tied into the power to open and close to see at a glance that everything was as it should be.

I'm sure an old 379 has a spare switch or 4 you could use. My current trailer setup I've had to add 16 switches. A bunch went in the dash and 9 went in a piece of aluminum angle I polished up.
