Short haul (150 mile radius) gets 12 hours on duty, driving included. You could drive 12 steady hours (except your 30 min break) as long as you stay within 150 miles of where you started.

You're not required to take the 30 minute break if you work under short haul. And I believe you cannot drive beyond 11 hours.

11 hours driving plus 30 minute pre/post insp. Plus 30 minute lunch is the breakdown.

The radius is 100 miles according to TTR members.

I was told by scale 12 yeara ago it was 150 miles.

    short haul exception,
100 air miles, which are not the same as 100 miles... works out to be about 112 ground miles.
Short haul does NOT have to take the 30 minute break, if they report to a terminal within 12 hours...

Are allowed to work a 16 hour day once every 7 days, still limited to 11 hours drive time. Must take the 30 minute break anytime you go over the 12 hours.

The 2 hours peoplenet is showing is Total ON duty/driving time, you are still limited to 11 hours drive time.

The ddl link is wrong about the 16 hour day, at least in reguards to short haul. Anyone can use the 16 hour as long as you report to the same terminal every day and it has not been used in the last week. I had a run that was 250 miles out and of course the same back that the 16 hour was allowed.

A 34 hour restart also resets the 16 hour exception.
