Hey all,
I'm curious of the speeds for a Eaton 7 speed.
I'm talking about the trick used like 35 = 8th gear, 45 = 9th, etc..
Would 5th be about 35 mph or?
Thanks
PS: there is no hi/lo, just straight 7.

Sounds like you're driving a 24 ft rental truck...been eons since I've driven one of those. That's worse than driving the old spring ride cab overs with Armstrong steering.
Anyways, are you asking at what road speed do you shift? Don't worry about the MPH, do it by the rpm. -
Yeah, I'm asking at what road speed to shift, downshift really. I know 1700rpm is the 'sweet' spot, but still curious at what rpm/road speed to downshift.

Only matters if you own it

My current truck is a 7 speed. Most up shifts are done at around 1800 rpm and down shifts are around a grand. I don't watch mph with it like I did my 10 speed. The 8th at 35 stuff won't work with it.
Rear gears make a huge difference with a 7. -
There is no way to answer this without knowing tire size (preferably revolutions per mile) and rear end ratio. Once you know that it simple match based on the ratios of your trans. Also depends on rpm.
