you basically have reverse (hi,lo) low then 1-4 flip it up and you have hi,lo in 5-8

well kinda but you'll split after 4th and the red splitter is for your hi lo 5-8. when you reach your Rpm red switch up let off accelarator then hit accelarator again and it will catch your next gear. then when you reach RPM red switch down and hit 6 and so on so on. Its easy man you dont have anymore holes just more splitter action

It is a 9 speed pattern. 1-5 on the low side. Then 6-9 you can split hi-low by using the red button. It is not difficult. If you understand a 9 speed pattern you will pick up on how to split 6-13 fairly quickly. Just remember to pre select your gears.
You have the capability of HI or LOW range in the upper gears by using the red switch .

I am going by what I know about EATON-FULLER transmissions. I am assuming a Mack 13 speed in very simular. I have driven some of the old Mack 6,7, and 8,speed transmissions and they are nothing like an Eaton-Fuller. But,I think the 13 speed Mack is like an Eaton-Fuller.

This is fun. I really think if he can drive an Eaton-Fuller transmission he should be able to get the hang of a Mack 13 speed fairly quickly. Now if it was an old Mack 5,6,7,or 8 speed they shift nothing like an Eaton-Fuller.
P.S I like the Mack on your profile.
