I have a 98 12.7 series 60. I was driving and it through a flash code 61. I thought ok it's time for a an ecm it was a ddec III and had a processor failure code. I pulled it apart and there was oil in the injector harness. Ordered an ecm and replaced the injector harness. It drove great for about 600 miles after the dealer programmed the ecm. Then code 61 number 2 in the firing order cylinder #5 after extensive testing and cleaning up the powers and grounds. Ohm testing the injector harness with and without the injectors hooked up. Ohm testing the ecm . I decided to replace the ECM again this time with a 9307 from Detroit. It still has a slight miss and doesn't reset the code. When I scan it and pull up injector calibration cylinder #5 is at 17 and the rest are between 3 and 5 . Can someone tell me if that's a typo? Or is there a reason it would be that that high. Im thinking that could be my problem and I have the software to change it. Thank you in advance for your time.

injector calibration is the 2 digit #on top of the injector so there all different

This brings back memories. Good ol engine. Yep, like mentioned, there will be a little 2 digit number stamped on the top of the injector, near the screws if I remember correctly. Those calibration numbers are completely randomized. So the bigger the number doesn't mean more fuel, or more power or whatever. So don't let that scare you. We were never officially told this, but whenever someone had a problem where the calibration was unknown, people would use 75 as a universal calibration.

Calibration codes aren't causing your issue. Is the check engine light still coming on, repeatedly with the same fault? Or do you just have a miss?

Yes good old days of two or four digit codes. Paccar MX 2013 up injector is a 38 digit code.
Rideandrepair and Heavyd Thank this. -
Code 61- Injector response time too long. Calibration codes being set wrong may cause a rough idle. Otherwise they really don’t matter. I’d guess the injectors going bad. Just a guess.

The manual says it’s likely a bad harness, bad ground, or a sticky injector solenoid.

Here's the update. I switched injector 5 and 6 . I still have a misfire on cylinder #5 I bought an endoscope and looked inside the cylinders and still see the hone marks on the liners. I found a table in the software injector response time. # 2 in the firing order aka cylinder 5 is .72 the rest are 1.0X. A friend of mine is a trucker i asked if he had a mechanic I could talk to his mechanic called and i gave him the injector response times he said I'd start with the injector harness. I asked the shop Forman at w.w. Williams and he said he'd start with a new harness then injector. After looking at the wiring diagram 1 plug is 1,3,5 the other one is 2,4,6 and a common. The common wire has a connection that has 4 wires molded together. Which means Murphys law is in effect. That means that the connection could be good enough to ohm out ok which it does, but not good enough to carry the load of firing the injector solenoid. Monday I'm going to replace the harness again. Thank you all that responded. I truly appreciate it.
