Thanks for the link. Was just looking to see what was covered on my policy this morning. Will talk with agent on Monday about upgrading to plus.

Ok, we are the claim that JD is talking about.

My husband was on private property, so there was no police report on the incident.

What JD has lined out above is pretty accurate.

The fact is, the adjuster that was assigned the claim admitted to NEVER viewing the video that we went to the trouble to obtain. They hired a third party investigator to investigate the claim, and that thing reads like a bias article against the big bad truck, and it states that GW would have to go through the legal department to get the video.(Hmmmmm we got it without an attorney) GW headquarters is only 130 miles from where this happened. Why the need to hire anyone is beyond me. That just adds cost to the claim.

The adjusters response to me, when I said, why don't you fight this for us, was "Its not worth the time to go to small claims court over." Propensity to settle.

I will not go into details about the situation, but just suffice it to say, we have bound coverage elsewhere, because we no longer feel that GW is for the Owner Operator out there trying to make it.

I've recommended GW to many people on this board, as we have had them for several years. But their eagerness to get this claim settled and off their plate, and the fact that we were basically treated like it didn't matter, has really soured us on them.

Just remember, any time you have a claim against you, it effects your premium with any coverage. This is our first claim against us, and its now on our record, weather we like it or not. :biggrin_25510:

Let's just put it this way, my husband is willing to pay a little more to get the service that he deserves in situations like this, over being treated as if our situation doesn't matter. :yes2557: I'm sure loosing our money isn't going to effect them, but if they continue to treat these types of claims like this, then they will be seeing a real impact in their business.

And seeing Dino's post above, just confirms that they are willing to settle something without really working for the people that are paying their premiums, which in turn creates their paychecks.

    josh.c and Hanadarko Thank this.

I am still with GWCC (Bullhaulerswife recommended) and I had the Choice Plus added 12/1.
    ($144/yr I believe it was)

I have been in touch with my GWCC agent in regards to this issue Bullhaulerswife had
with the company. I think a fair amount of blame belongs on the agent.

They are supposed to help us....

Which is why we no longer have "that" agent either.

I got the run around from every angle, from the adjuster, our agent, to the underwriter.

AND my new agent tried to help them keep me as a customer, and heard their lackluster attitude on the phone, when we discussed the agent.

FWIW: GW does not allow you to change agents and stay with their coverage either.

Our agent never did show us hard numbers until after we bound coverage. Everything was done over the phone. Your down is approximately this and your monthly will be that. But never any numbers on paper.

My new agent simply stated that GW had become kind of ####y about their premiums being low enough that they didn't need to work to keep business. Well, when I'm paying for coverage, I expect people to do their job. This was not the case with our claim or our policy renewal. I was left to sit and wonder for weeks on end, weather the adjuster had viewed the video, filed it in file 13 or what. I made every effort to provide them with the information needed to turn this in our favor.

Then, to top it all off, no one was concerned with the damage to our truck. I had to ask, is anyone going to ask for an estimate on our vehicle?

AND after they opened that claim, and we provided estimates and bills, because we repaired the lights, the adjuster on that claim "found" another bumper at a place that I previously stated we would not do business with ever again for $300 cheaper than the actual bumper on the truck.

Yeah, I knew the bumper that they were talking about because they had to take it off the truck last time. It was not OEM, and they put about 60 washers on the truck to get the bumper to kind of line up. Not only that it was a 22" drop Texas style paper thin piece of garbage that would bend the minute that you touched a snow drift. :biggrin_25523:

Just one more thing that made us decide that they didn't really want our business. :biggrin_25526:
