Nearing retirement and want to work part time. Every other week? Are there any companies out there currently with a schedule like this?

Welcome aboard. There was a time when p/t trucking didn't exist. Lord knows, we've all tried at one time or another. Companies promised the moon, but soon found yourself on the way to Wilkes-Barre, Pa., with a load of diapers, then call. Meaning, you get sucked into the regular scene of things. I've done seasonal gigs that worked, but not many companies want a p/t driver. The business doesn't work that way. You can try, might be a lot of legwork, I suggest a van or shuttle bus that uses retirees, or picking up abandoned trucks, but never much in regular trucking. Good luck.

Driver leasing service or CDL temporary employment agency. You tell them when you are available to work. Those companies are NOT in every town but in mid-size & larger cities.

THIS^^^^^^^^^^^, thank you. I'm in a similar situation, my rent is based on income, and with SS, I'm right at the limit. If I work, I have to pay taxes, plus, my rent goes up. I'm literally better off not working. The only way would be cash, and I turned down 3 jobs, because they couldn't pay me cash.

    Wargames Thanks this.

I've been told, my company ( western dairy) will let you be part-time, and you were only required to drive once a quarter, but I've never seen it written.

    Wargames and 201 Thank this.
