Hi. How to remove/fix the red light on the dash on 2012 Cascadia? The red light stays on all the time. And sound warning when start moving. I fasten the belt all the time.

Op said they buckle the seatbelt.

Have a cooler in the passenger seat? Maybe it senses that and thinks a person is there not buckled in. I have had quite a few vehicles give me a warning light/tone when someone is sitting over there but not buckled up.

If your seatbelt has a sensor in the belt receptacle, in theory you can take the two wires and splice them together completing the circuit and making it go off. The seatbelt typically has some cheap plastic piece that moves up and down inside to complete the contact, and when the plastic gets worn down, it no longer completes it and the buzzer goes off. Those two wires should be on the outside of the seatbelt receptacle coming from the floor.

Yes, I have a cooler on the passenger seat, but there is no sensor in the belt receptacle. I already tried to buckle up, no changes. Thx for reply.

I heard about it, but I don't know how to disassemble that receptacle, it looks like the whole piece, I'm afraid to break it . Can i unscrew the bolt and replace it completely? The problem is in the receptacle, correct?

No electrical in there. Just a wire rope cable that bolts it down. Might be on the wall where the seat belt retracts into.

Just trace from the seatbelt receptacle down and find the sensor. Where the two wires are, cut and splice them to each other completing the circuit, telling the truck the seatbelt is fastened. The seatbelt will still work fine and you won't go crazy.

Not sure about Freightliner, but their former 4-wheeler division (a.k.a. Jeep...now owned by Tony) has some sort of sensor at the spool end. My MIL's Jeep dings when she is in the passenger seat without it on, but as soon as she pulls the belt out of the wall 6 inches...it stops, and thinks she has it on, she doesn't have to latch it.

Do you know what type of ICU you have with your truck? You can do an EE reset on the cluster. This happens occasionally.
