    OK.

    sears ??

There were about two dozen job houses that made CBs, half that would do the entire packaging and design work for a customer. Sears higher end radios, if I remember were made by the same company that did Browning, Midland 13- SSB and high end series and some SBE.

That's what I'm starting to lean towards. It's mounted on the dash right now and as long as it stays good n hot it runs great. I poked around inside but couldn't find anything obviously bad. No leaking or bulged caps. I probed around looking for a loose joint to see if I could pinpoint a loose connection but no change so far. It's been working fine last couple days. The last time it acted up on me I turned it off for about 10 minutes and it's been running ever since....

Get you some of that freezing cold aerosol spray and spray different components and solder joints maybe you can thermally trigger a duplication of the problem

A RoadTalker 40 here was doing the same kind of thing, but RX would cut out. Touch a scope probe to it and it would come back. An hour later, out again. Gave up on that one.

They are good sounding radios when they are working right. Not just some old junker. The best I've ever heard Next to old tube radios, and that's just for the unique tone they have.

Don't get rid of it! :)

Treat her well. She may not have the features of a new radio but she knows how to talk. Road Talkers are no joke.
