I am curious what others are getting for boost on Thier sdp engines? I'm having trouble getting a straight answer. Since day 1 I've had 40lbs and have searched for the issue but I have a couple cat guys who swear I'll never see more then that from a sdp, the mxs and nxs boosted more they say...... bUT then I've got other guys who swear that's false.

If I should have moreceived boost, my list of what it could be is small. I just did a complete rebuild which included new head and injectors, oil pump, fuel pump, compressor, all engine/injectot/vva wiring harnesses and every single sensor on the motor. New high pressure turbo, spacer plate, front and rear structures, all 6 holes including con rods. New crank dampner and pulleys. Did 4 of 6 vva's.

No boost leak so if boost is low, I've either got air in fuel, last 2 vva are bad and not throwing a code or that low pressure turbo is junk.

Please only comment on what you know of your own sdp engine. I don't want to know what your mxs did, what a friend's did or the word of a mechanic who knows (as I have tooany and half are obviously wrong) just the word from guys with this engine.

    Thanks guys.

I believe 40 sounds about right. Slightly higher on the 600 and 625 versions. I know of 2 I can check and know for sure...

Your engine is also not stock so you have to take that into account as well. Different then stock programming will equal different boost output.
More importantly, do you think you are down on power? Not pulling good?

No, it's pulling just fine. Right now I've got the stock 550 cat file in there during my engine break in period. But even with the tune I had in it, same boost.... if I pinch the wastegate hose, same boost.

Seems a little off to me that it never changes.

I don't see it being the guage but who knows. Sensors are all new as well. sp.jpg
From Catman at just answer. He figures I'm within spec.

I'm gonna tune this thing Thursday so I should get more boost then. Guess we'll see.

With a wastegated turbo you won't ever get more boost than where the gate is set at to open will you?

    SAR Thanks this.

No, my train of thought was wrong here. I think they are set to wastegate at like 55psi so plugging it will do nothing.
