I am just wondering if any one has run a truck with the SCR equipment. I have heard better power and fuel economy. I am looking at a new truck and just looking for some information. I have heard good things in the ag side of things. Keeping the Urea around wouldn't be a problem for me as my farm equipment is going to need the stuff here pretty quick.

SCR is new system and it is not trouble free. Some drops of diesel in carbomide tank kill SCR pump, sometimes SCR unit looses pressure, sometimes there are heaters issues.
and all the parts are expencive.
any SCR fault causes engine derate and speed limiting.
think twice before you purchase SCR equiped truck -
i dont drive similar truck but we have here scr since 2005 and it is work just fine.....
but def can freeze on -11C =~-12F
You should also pay attention to the quality of the ad blue-DEF
because the less quality additives are often making problems ,,,,,,(crystallization, damage to pumps and.....)
usually those truck are about 600-700lbs weight more.....
fuel consumption is at least here lower than on euro 3 engines .......also they are a bit stronger -
Throttle response is better. You have to figure in DEF consumption along with fuel to get proper fuel consumtion because what you are not spending on fuel you might be spending on DEF.

we have new volvos 2011 vn670 d13 engines with scr
we averaging 6.5m/g 35k dry van going west from chicago .
and about 60m/g on urea .
our fleet 15 trucks two months so far no problems. -
Wonder how long it will be before there are stories floating around about drivers filling those tanks with things other than DEF.

Any driver that sabotages the system will not be driving very long.
There is a group of Videos on the Detroit site from trucking companies that used the trucks with the urea, they are very interesting not a bunch of taking heads that are full of BS, Just company executives talking about what they found and what the drivers thought of them, fuel mileage and costs. I watched them a while back, very interesting. I would Imagine Cummins has the same type site.
There is an EPA sticker on all new engines with the number of MM3 fuel burnt to make Max HP, it is a good idea to find that number for the different engines, the International has no urea.
Just a thought! -
first year we operated SCR Volvo with D13 we had no problem, better fuel milage, better engine responce....
But later we got urea injector leaking, low urea pressure, crystalisation, faulty hose heaters, coolant valves... and some problems block scr system and engine power derate actuates. Truck slooooly runs in limp home mode to change some SCR parts... -
