Anyone hear anything about Schwerman Trucking out of WI shutting down or leaving drivers stranded? Someone I work with just called me about giving a driver a ride because his truck was booted and load repowered.

Are they still around? Apparently not. I remember when I was a kid in Milwaukee, Schwerman was one of the few companies that hauled gas. They had Whites or Autocars with air starters. We always wondered what that noise was. Schwerman has been mentioned here before, and not with good reviews. They were one of the oldest trucking firms started in 1913 in Milwaukee. Wouldn't surprise me if they went under. Gonna be a slow process, but one by one these companies are going to drop out. Good luck with that, younguns, gonna get a lot worse before it gets better.

I don't have any fond memories of working for Schwerman in Tennessee.
If they went under; no sympathy here.
100% of the drivers can have a new job within 24 hours.

Wow!!! I saw a schwerman truck a couple weeks ago, looks the driver was in a brand new Volvo vnl 760 midroof, but that was a couple weeks ago. I know a lot can transpire quickly in trucking

First of all we have no terminal in WI, it's a corporate office and nothing else.
2nd if my company shutting down how am I picking up load on Monday and with Tuesday delivery 580miles away?
Oh and I am currently home , so if they would shut down , I wouldn't be schedule to pick up a load...Last edited: Sep 14, 2019

I hope it is fake news but a lot of times the drivers and office staff are the last ones to know about a closing.
@WildTiger1990 ...if you hear anything please let us know. Thanks.88 Alpha, Savor the Flavor and MACK E-6 Thank this. -
Is this you @WildTiger1990 ? Are those DOT approved pressure checking shoes she kicked the steer tire with? I would cringe as a Safety official if that’s how my drivers pretripped. Then again, most drivers don’t pretrip.
AModelCat and Shock Therapy Thank this. -
. Besides it's 2 years old video ...

We have a lady driver where I work at who literally takes 45 minutes to do a pre-trip. She was going through a scale one time and pulled in and asked one of the officers if they could check her brakes because they didn’t feel right, and of course the DOT guys granted her wish. And they found a few minor violations, but they told her the brakes were fine, but my company was not to happy about her asking DOT to check her brakes
