I just got hired on by Schneider as a regional driver. I was told by the recruiter I could park the truck at home but my hiring packet says "an approved Schneider location" I don't want to be in a slip seat truck or have to drive 120 miles to to terminal every week. Does Schneider let regional drivers take their truck home? Does anyone here drive for Schneider regional that could give me some tips?

I was told that being 70 miles from the terminal I was expected to park there in a home weekly regional position. I had some discussion with a DBL that in an OTR position and out longer home parking could be considered though I think normally 100 miles is the cut off. Id think at 120 miles you should be good for home park once they confirmed the unit can be based at your location safely and legally, ie, making it a SNI approved location.
Schneider has been very reasonable. If you prove yourself as a valuable asset, a safe and reliable driver, I bet they will do what they can to accommodate you.

Don't know bout regional but when I worked there, I took the truck home every friday. No issues. I wasn't regional though. Just ask your DBL. If you can't fit the truck at your house, then you'll need a signed agreement from the property owner wherever you park it. Don't forget to check your zoning laws too

Things you should ask BEFORE you get hired. They have a drop yard where I live, but my neighbor drives to a location 80 miles away to get his truck. He's out 10 days though.

Thanks man. I live in the county so I know I'm good on the zoning.

Im looking forward to working with them. Starting with a mega was actually something I didn't want to do but the more I look into it the more it seems like a good idea.
