I have not been on this forum near as much as before. What that tells me and you is that Schneider, so far, is running me silly, way more than my previous company. This is what I signed up for, not to sit most weekends and twiddle my thumbs, wondering if I'll ever move.

I've almost run my 70 out on all three tours I've been out on so far, I've been paid every dime owed to me, and the DBL I have will actually listen to me and work a plan out if I have a problem with delivery. Feels great to actually have someone listen to you and take your thoughts and ideas into consideration, instead of the old, iron-fisted, "do as I say or else" mantra.

Hometime? No complaints. When I have asked to be home, I was on a plane that day (I live in Florida). And they have only called me once on my hometime, asking about a load I relayed in West Memphis. I thought they were going to book a flight to another truck.

So far, so good. And I'm enjoying my time here.

    JesusFreak and jakecat22 Thank this.

What??? You have to fly home for home time? They don't have freight to Florida? That's got to be expensive flying home.

In the job description. I am part of what's known as the "mobile airborne" board out of Green Bay. Slip seat operation. After a minimum of three weeks on, you turn the truck in to an OC, then they fly you home for five days of home time, then fly you to another truck and repeat the process.

Their reason; and this has been true for years. It's easy to get into Florida, but hard to get out. At least with decent freight (unless you're hauling citrus).

I know all about Florida freight, I just moved from Clearwater. I lived there for 20 years, and I know I have seen plenty of Schneider trucks down there. I guess most of them were on some kind of dedicated account or something?

Interesting concept, "mobile airborne" , guess as long as your happy that's all that matters! Just seems as though you couldn't possibly fly with everything you need(want) in the truck.

By the way, it sounds like its working well for you so far. Your obviously getting good miles if your running out of hours, and making some money, that's whats important. Congrats!

Must be dedicated. I mostly run the northeast and midwest, which is fine by me. I have never minded running norhteast, as long as NYC isn't involved.

As for luggage, I had to learn to pack light. The company will pay for one bag, but I usually have two. So I just keep mt receipts for the luggage and I'll write it off on my taxes at the end of the year.
