You must mean for hauling their sand and not actually working for them?

I had an interview this past Friday, for equipment operator, installing submersible pump's down-hole.
Starting salary is $18-$22 with a slew of benefits.

I was notified after the interview that they want to proceed and move forward with my application.

The job does not excite me, as it sounds like mostly what I will do is strap bands around the pipe to hold the wire on. Strap the wire hundreds of times for each submersible pump, and cut the straps off and re-spool the wire when you're bringing the pump out.

So I'm not sure if I will accept their formal offer after all my background checks clear. If I'm offered the low-end of $18, then I will not, because wireline pays the same. But if I'm offered $22, then I'll be confused as to what to do.

Was really interested in joining a wireline crew, but they only pay about $17-$18 an hour with 90 to 100 hour weeks as I am told.

When I was at the job fair last Wednesday I talked to wireline managers from several big-name companies. They have either a 15/7 or 20/10 schedule which I would like.

The Schlumbeger job is on the production side, where as the wireline, from what I understand, is only on the completion side.
So of course production-side jobs have better longevity and less likely to be laid off during the next slow down.

Any and all advice would be appreciated.

    Thank you

Dude there's a lot more to it that strapping and sending pumps down lemme break it down in trucking terms so the wireline group is like the oversized trucker make the most money and stays clean sitting in the trailer unless your the unlucky soul cleaning the perforation guns. The pump guys are like the flatbed always working but there's more room for advancing either way take the job btw you need a squeaky clean background for wireline

When I was in work over rigs, usually the hands on the rig took off and installed the bands. But then again, the company I worked for AND the well operator were super cheap. I'll tell you, that's a tedious task messing with bands. I would rather trip pipe every day for a year than mess with bands for one day.
