Yup, works out of Dickinson, makes good money toooo many hours
And really good health Insurance. I did tanker work when I was there
Now I’m back over the road from the last down turn. Good luck -
I’m going to sound old but I remember when frac crews were $12-$14/hr
Times have really changed

I did my finger prints and such yesterday at 4PM for the TSA background checks to get my HazMat. I was expecting a long wait...but the DMV had my approval the same day. I must be squeaky clean!
Hopefully the hazmat, tanker, doubles/triples, and passenger help my odds.CJ701, Oldironfan and Just passing by Thank this. -
If you make it past the interview, you'll be an Ellwood employee. They do temp to hire contractors, because lots of people quit in the first few months. Some in the first few days. It's also easier to tell a temp to go home and stay there.
Your CDL is important, but not really. If you want to get hired on, and more importantly, get picked up permanently, go buy a 10lb sledgehammer and start hammering. A sledgehammer and the ability to suffer in silence is 99.99999% of the job.Paddlewagon, Crude Truckin', Just passing by and 2 others Thank this. -
They also said Schlumberger indicated the most physically demanding part of the job is getting in and out of the truck and that it was a driving position (although that part I do not believe for a second, and am not going into it expecting it.)
I have no doubt you would know more. Just not sure if they typically mislead a guy to get him in the door, or if they are just changing hiring techniques. She did mention they dropped the hair follicle drug test as well because they were desperate for drivers (not that it matters to me.) she just threw it out as an 'oh by the way...' -
On the left and right are pumps, in the middle is a manifold. Follow the pipes from the pump to the manifold. See all the joints with the wings? Each one of those has to get hammered together. With a hammer. By hand. I think a 3" single wing chicksan is 62lbs, after that it gets heavy. Someone is flat out lying to you. A buddy of mine went to an interview a few months ago, it was temp to hire. It's possible that's changed, but I wouldn't take the word of a person that told me the hardest part would be getting out of the truck.CJ701, Just passing by, bbq247365 and 2 others Thank this. -
Actually now that I think about it, it could be a trucking job. They do have their own trucking company. Last time I checked, it was hourly with a per loaded mile bonus, no OT. Not sure why anyone would want to work under those conditions, but I guess they're hiring people.
If it's a frac job driving is minimal. If it's a trucking job, it's a trucking job.Just passing by Thanks this. -
Do you know exactly what job they are hiring you for?
I know lots of companies are scrambling to get crude out of the permian so maybe crude tanker work?
Doubt you would be swinging a hammer for that.
What pay do they say you will make? -
She was reading off what schlumberger gave her. 60-100 miles a day, 10-12 hour days, minimal physical labor, direct hire, benefits day 1, pay ranges from 80,000-105,000 depending on experience and X endorsement. Said it was hauling equipment and product to and from well sites.
It honestly sounds on the edge of being too good to be true...
