I have Sirius, and I have a VERY old Sirius Sportster Radio. I'd like to get a new one but I'm paying cheap for this so why change :D?

I bought the antenna you see at most truck stops. I didn't pay full price though, got it when it was on sale and saved quite a bit. I've had it installed on about four or five different trucks and is easy to move around.

Xm and sirius are the same company now, so it dont matter what you get. As for the antenna you dont need one just get the car kit and us the little magnetic one that comes with it, i never had a problem with it, i see no reason to pay for a big useless antenna

I have used both before and did not have much success with the small come with the radio type. I have not bought one for over 4 years so I am not well informed. Used both but they were already there

It looks very similar but mine is
    a different brand I believe.

I had no luck with the little car antenna. It would work bit not very well, it would cut out when I was going by tall trees even. This big antenna only cuts out on some tunnels, one tunnel it does work in is the Squirrel Hill Tunnel in Pittsburgh lol.

Yes I will add that the small antenna cuts out. The long pole truck mirror atenna is what I am using now and works great.

As for what radio, I prefer the XM radios over the sirius radios (and I have used both). Right now I am using the XM XpressRCi and its ability to pause and record up to an hour are basicaly a requrement for me.

This feature is great if you like talk or music. For talk I leave it on over night, then the next day an hour and a half of the show is already pre recorded. that way when they go to comercial I can just skip threw the comercials and strait back to the talk. For music I do the same thing. If a crappy song comes up I just skip it to the next song, or if a really good one comes up I replay it.

If you gota make a quick stop just pause it and then you can come back where you left off. Pulling threw a scale where you want to pay a bit more attention pause it.

No good music on right now? start playing the 10 songs you saved to your favorites list while it records what ever channel you left it on. Then you can go back and listen to them skiping threw the crappy stuff.

I just bought the SiriusXM Lynx. I had a Sportster 5 that crapped out. I saw this one and fell in love. It's WiFi and Bluetooth enabled, stores 200 hours of programming, it's portable, I can take it with me while I'm running and listen to it. I've been a Sirius subscriber since 2004, and after I bought the Lynx I learned it was on the XM network and I had to switch and pay xtra for Howard and NFL. But these newer radios have xtra channels, including Dirty Dog, a dirtier version of Raw Dog, and a 24 hour George Carlin channel. It's an amazing piece of technology using the Android operating system.

The lynx does look pretty nice for its features. 5 hours of recording and 15 minutes on your favorite channels. Almost makes me want to upgrade today.
