I see sargento cheese trucks all the time on I80 in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.. Was wondering how one gets to drive a sargento truck, and what it's like working there.. I'm assuming it's a private fleet. If anyone cares to share any knowledge, it would be much appreciated. Thanks

They post openings for OTR Drivers from time to time. All their plants are in Wisconsin. They operate under Sargento Tansportation, LLC. DOT # 1429548. -
Darn fine cheese! A bit pricey...but if you just buy it once in a while as a 'treat'...darn fine cheese. I recommend the Apple Smoked Baby Swiss.

Buddy mine went there with high aspirations. He was O/O and spoke his truck and trailer. He worked 2 months before quitting. He apparently started just after a bunch of changes occurred. A lot of senior drivers have quit and they have many vacant positions now. It went from a coveted job to one you don't want.
He went for weeks getting home on a Saturday and having to leave on Sunday with only 24 hours or less off. Ran recaps all of the time. Terribly planned backhauls from some real crappy places. He said the pay was as advertised but everything else sucked.
@CaptainDaveG care to chime in?Blagoje Thanks this. -
Duh I just noticed that this is an old thread. What I said is true but not relevant to the OP now!
