Both Robertson Ready Mix and Cemex are hiring in my area, would this be good for a new driver? Would other companies consider this good experience when I want to move on? Thanks in advance for any help.

If you don't drive over the road to at least 3 states and keep a log book then no.
driving a tractor trailer in state is not considered experience for an over the road company.Caynnor Thanks this. -
I was thinking more in terms of other local jobs that call for 1 year of T/T experience.

Dude, just apply. You may end up liking it enough to where you might want to stay. As for OTR experience needed for local jobs, it's a myth. There are many of us that landed local gigs right out of CDL school without going to a mega carrier as a starter company (myself included).
Tonythetruckerdude and loves2truck Thank this. -

you would be better off working for those local companies and going home every night than getting into driving over the road. Mentally and financially.
